1. finally와 final

final 형용사, 최종의 마지막의 결정적인 the final exam is tomorrow

finally 부사, 마침내, 결국, 마지막으로 i finally passed the exam

 

2. polite와 politely

polite 형용사 예의바른, 공손한 he is a polite man who always smiles

politely 부사 공손하게 예의바르게 he politely smiled at the elderly lady.

 

3. long과 longly

long 형용사: 길다 오래 걸리는 , 부사 오랫동안

longly 부사 오랫동안  >현대에 잘 사용되지 않음, 문학책이나 과거에 사용된 단어

 

long 형용사

this is a long road

it was a long day at work

 

long 부사

how long will you stay?

 

 

4. gentle과 gently

gentle 형용사 부드러운, 온화한 she is a gentle person with a kind heart

gently 부사 부드럽게, 조심스럽게 she gently touched the flower

 

5. high와 highly

high 부사, 형용사, 높이, 높은 ; 주로 물리적 높이 또는 수준 the kite flew high above the trees

highly 부사 매우, 대단히, 높이 평가 받아 (비유적으로) : 정도 강조, 추상적인 평가 this book is highly informative.

 

 

6. near와 nearly

near 전치사(-에 가까이) 부사(가까이) 형용사(가까운) 주로 물리적, 비유적 거리가 표현시 the car is parked near the entrance

nearly  부사 거의, 수량이나 정도 표현, 특정 상태에 거의 도달했음 나타냄. the car is nearly out of fuel
